Time to replace Timing Belt?

After a road trip of about 400 miles I started to hear noises from the engine. Im pretty sure it's the timing belt. It now happens every time I start the engine. Does this mean I should replace the belt asap? Also, I bought the car with 186,000 and now it has around 207,000
Thanks for your help

Crap I hope it's not the alternator :/
Better than a timing belt snapping.
BTW, do you have any record of when, or if, the timing belt and water pump was changed?
Yeah thanks :D No, I didn't ask the guy when I bought the car, stupid me. The belt seems to be in good condition , I checked the timing and it's not moving around. I also was thinking it may be the water pump but I can't pinpoint where the noise is coming from. Do water pump make noise when going out?

If you do not know for an absolute fact that the timing belt, water pump, and tensioner were replaced within 60,000 miles of now, do it right away. Otherwise, you are just playing Russian Roulette with your engine. Could be fine, could throw the timing belt and smash your valves into your pistons and put holes in very expensive things.

Usually the only noise a bad timing belt makes is a "whuffle" as the pistons move up and down with some of the valves stuck open. Or possibly some smashing noises.
