(I decided to create this thread so I wouldn't trash my CRX's one with non-CRX content. )
I purchased my Suzuka Blue S2000 around Memorial Day.
At the local dealer
It's funny, because this color (or even this car) was on my radar. I wanted a NA1, but I decided to be patient and pass on getting one. Since Honda's supercar wasn't on my radar, why not settle for Honda's 3rd best car (behind a CRX and NSX  ). So I was set on S2000. I knew I wanted a AP1 because I preferred the higher redline. Also, I dropped the first few years out of my search because they had plastic rear windows and no rear defrosters. Then I set my color combo requirements (red/black, black/red, or black/black) and started my search throughout the east coast. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful. Everything was high mileage, over priced, modified, had a salvage title, or was sold before I could see it . Then I came across local ads for a suzuka blue and three other silverstone S2ks. One silverstone was 10miles away, but was "on hold", and the other two were about 45-mins away. The suzuka blue was about 20-30mins away, so I decided to check that first and the rest is history. Test driving it made me forget that I didn't want a blue on blue car lol.
Nice find! I have always liked the Suzuka blue personally. I'm sure you like it more now . The sound these cars make really is one of the best notes I have ever heard. Enjoy!
I thought AP2s could rev higher? Since the retainers were beefier. The redline was set lower but they said if you swapped in AP2 retainers into AP1, you could rev pretty high (10k) and then a valve would float lol..
Either way you could still rev high haha.. http://www.d-series.org/forums/showcase ... ost2529694

I sure do. The color has definitely grown on me some more over the pass two months. I agree with you on the exhaust tone.

Honda reduced the red line of the AP2 because of the added stress/force the motor would see due to the larger stroke. Plus, AP2 cams are less aggressive. AP2 retainers are the results of Honda redesigning and over engineering a part that was originally faulty.

Very nice. How many miles on the car? Looks like it's in very nice shape. I have a 04 silverstone red/black. Mine has around 37k.
The had 71k when I purchased it in May. Now it's about 77K. I have to commuting back and forth from VA to NC to visit my wife, so by the end of the year I'll probably be at 115k-120k lol
