you lucky bastard

i once bought a 1980 rx-7 for 500 bucks that wouldnt start...but the paint and body was perfect, PERFECT
i found it at a guys upholstery shop, someone had abandoned it there, obviously no title
people just dont know rotaries, poured some atf down the carb let it sit, rotated it by hand and then it started right up
come to find out it was a rebuilt engine it had just sat too long and locked up ( a rotary locking up is not as bad as it sounds when someone says a piston engine has locked up )

HAHAHA! I guess I am lucky. :bounce: Now that is a great find for such a nice car. $500 is what some people spend on tires alone! So I think that is a great buy. I once almost bought a running 1969 SS Camaro with a straight body for $3000 in Pasadena. Try to buy a running 1969 camaro for $3000, a mint shell with no rust, engine, or tranny will run you around $8000. Oh well, I have my crx and love it. :-)b

:blah: Just kidding Beto. That is cool that you have the best of both worlds. The 68 for 1/4 mile runs and then take the crx for autocross or just having fun in the canyons. I want to get another muscle car in the future, but right now I want to put a D series turbo engine setup in my crx. I'm reading alot on that engine and how to make it bullet proof.

Funny you ask, I got the Recaro sliders thanks to you. I called the guy from the ad you sent me. The brackets that I got with the sliders are for a 97-99 honda prelude, so I need to get the right brackets for my crx. My search continues for the brackets now. :-)b

Contact Wedge Engineering to get the brackets for your Recaros. They are pricey though.

I want to sell the prelude brackets dirt cheap, so if you know anyone that is looking for these Beto let them know. I'm going to go online right now to see what I find for my crx. My girl is already telling that I got to much crap on my side of the room. :blah: LOL! She does have a point though. Thanks Beto for helping me out.

I have the same type recaro seat in my CRX.
I use these adaptor plates to fit them onto my standard CRX rails

I have Recaro sliders now. Will this work with them or should I just bite the bullet and buy the Recaro brackets?

The adaptor plate screws onto the seats and then the standard CRX runners are screwed onto that.
Then all you need to do it bolt into your car.

Thanks for all the info on the brackets Hadstec. I think I'm going to go with wedge brackets since I don't have the know how to make these. LOL Just being truthful, I only have basic tools. I wanted to have my seats in by the next crx meet so I could give away my Si seats to a lucky member. We will see....take care guys. :-)b
