Can I fit in a 1990 CRX(Hatchback)

Postby Whitegab000 » Fri Aug 05, 2016 8:21 pm

Hi im 16 6'1/6'2 and in the upper 300's I know most big guys go for trucks or suv's or atleast sedans but i found a decent one on craigslist and thought it wouldnt be too bad of a car and was wondering if i would fit. Also for more contex i fit into a 2004 aveo ( Also would the backseat be capable of holding 1 booster seat and a car seat? Thanks guys

These cars don't come with a back seat in the US. You can install one from the Euro or JDM models, but I definitely wouldn't trust the lives of my kids back there!

For the interior space....I think it depends on if you're tall in the legs or in the torso. There isn't a lot of head room, but there is lots of leg room.

OP, do you man spread?

5'10" and 265 here, but I spread it wide like a whore and my right knee hits the center console. Also with the foam in the seat having apart from age/UV/weight you might end up sitting on steel seat rail which can bruise your hips on long drives.

I would look at a Civic HB, 88-95 for more comfort.

Im 6'3" 220 and have plenty of room, hell my seat isnt even all the way back. I fit plenty fine back when I was 287 lbs as well.

As far as kids in the back.....NO. You get 1 passenger up front in these cars and that is it. Even with the euro/jdm rear seat you get 1 passenger up front.

If the reason you're asking is because you found one on craigslist, just go and try it out. No better way to know for sure.

6'2" 260 here and the seat isn't the whole way back. People ask my how I fit in it and I tell them I have more room in this car than any other car I own. It's like driving a fishbowl.

I'm 6'3" and 250 at my biggest....I "fit", Seat is maxed back head is cocked to the side in a Si, real bad with a helmet. I don't know about a nonSi but it's cramped for sure....and never kids in the back and I have to think twice about the front.

I am a fat f%$k at 300lbs right now. 5'9". I find the SiR to be comfy with plenty of space once I am in. Getting in and out is the hard part.

Holy thread resurrection, Batman! :P

The car is designed to fit a large size frame (it's the anti-Miata, especially with the early fixed steering wheel); the one caveat is the seat. Most oem seats are junk by now, but most aftermarket seat brackets raise the seat. I fit in my car fine at my current gross tonnage, but my fixed back seat does need a shoe horn or two. Good for fun driving, bad for longer drives.
