Their seats are really nice.

That is tight, I am looking at the CRX 89-91 D966F and D967F rails. From the year listed I assume these fit the 'door seat belt factory rail' chassis. Do you know if these are for bottom or side mount seats? And what seats work with these. I was looking at the Forza and GTS II, both look like bottom mount, I need the heights though. If you can ask your friend about this I would greatly appreciate it.

Let me know how you like the Forza if you get it. I've been looking around at seats recently too. My friend has a 80s Sparco in his RX-7, and it's the best I've sat in. I really want something basic, minimal padding and skinny. The Sparco is old enough, he says, that they didn't make wider seats then, so it's perfect for skinny guys like me. It's amazing the feedback you get, it feels like you can feel the tires squirming! I'm looking into the Sparco Sprint, and possibly the Corbeau Forza. I drove an EG Si in autocross that had Forza IIs, the dude who owned it was a little heavy. He also had 4-point harnesses, I'll probably go with 5 or 6 point becase I just don't like the feel of the 4-points. It's also important to note (for me anyway) that Corbeau seats are no longer approved racing seats.

This thread makes me wish I had bought more aggressive seats, instead of doing my Si seats up.

Don't hate the Si seats man! I love mine, I'd be keeping them if they were in good shape, but there's a small hole in the passenger seat, and the driver's bolster is already tearing, after being repaired once... despite the fact that they came out of a car with only 25k on it. CRX Si seats are among the best OEM seats for a car, better than even some serious sports cars (I hate leather... that's part of it). I also love the RSX-S and S2000 seats, if they came in cloth/microsuede. The new Si seats (and even the EP3 ones) are also very nice, but I imagine they would be too large/tall for a CRX.

A side note (another thread jack this morning!), has anyone ever been in the old Corolla GTS seats? They are pretty tight... there's an air bladder with a hand pump to fill it like the blood pressure thingies.

I'm not hating on Si seats, I just wish I had something even better. For the amount I spent on them, getting them recovered and heated, I could have done better. I won't give up my heated seats though.

I first noticed how much Si seats are lacking when I sat in Jonny_Black's car at the FL meet. He's got EP3 seats. WOW.

I know that the RSX/EP3 seats are too tall for the rex, not sure about the S2000 seats though, those might work. I think I am gonna go with the Forza's...I really wanted the BuddyClub seats because they are pretty narrow, and they would fit me perfect...still have a lil more time to choose though, and I will do some more comparison. I will post some pics when I get it decided though.

Both seats will fit in a CRX with a little modification.

damn, how did you get them in there? I just sat them in the car, and I figured the whole bottom of the seat would need to come off. they were really tall. stradling the steering wheel tall...do you have any pics of the seats out of the car? or the rails?

I bought these for $280 shipped. Not the best you can buy but good enough for daily driving. I had Corbeau Forza seats and hated them. Not being able to recline the seat to your liking sucks. Also the have a pad right under your legs that makes clutching painful if you drive for a long time. Very uncomfortable seats IMO.

I like the design of those. Agressive.

I have Sparco Sprint non-reclining seats. I had a frame welded for them at a specific angle to my taste. Never felt the need to adjust them from the second I crawled into them.

The CRX with the EP3 seats belongs to Jonny_Black. You could send him a PM about it. ComposiMo was the guy that made those seats fit though, so you should probably send him a message.

The S2000 seats have CRX rails welded to the pans.

Cool, thanks for the info. I test fitted the DC5 seats and they were tall, was gonna cut the rails off and try to mod them but I didnt want to mess with the airbags.

I have the anniversary edition EP3 seats in mine, they fit just fine. I stripped out the OEM rails from the EP3 seats then mounted a box section and mounted the OEM CRX rails onto the box section, I guess you can call the box section adapters.

The same would apply to the normal EP3 seats.

Anyway here are some pics....

I know, this is an old thread, but now I need recommendations for PILLAR mount rails in an '89 (USDM '88 type rails).

I have some bottom mount Recaro SR-VI seats I would like to use.

Two problems:
-The Corbeau site now lists the price as $0.00, so I am guessing they are disco'd.
-The Bride rails explicitly state that the SR-VI bottom mounts are different from the others.

Any ideas? If I can get the '88 mounts from somewhere, then I will try to source some SR-VI sliders/rails from Japan.

Contact Wedge Engineering; I just went to their site and they list 88 sliders and brackets as still being available.
