Well that and , i can't find a Mugen wing .. and after my daughter saw the CF in person,
she loves it .. :/ .. sure would be easier to install a Mugen
And body work is probably my biggest weakness here ..
I was commercial electrician for over 10 years , i got the electrical stuff down
I've always worked on my own cars and i'm good with tools .. but ..
body work is a different animal .. ahhhhhh .. lol
I was hoping someone with more experience than me ( which is any experience at all .. lol )
could offers some "TiPs" ..
eg: how to build up that mounting area so that it's flush , shim it ? , epoxy resin ? ( we have lots of epoxy resin layin around ) ,
** most importantly **
Should i be "shaping" a new install ?
Is this common ? Do those gaps do something ? ( drain water er w/e )
I'm talking about the mating surface that actually touches the glass.
RE: lining up the secondary brackets. How To ??
It's really hard to get an "actual" center point to measure from. Seems like they could have put a small center mark in as part of the mold
I don't want them so far inward that the primary clips don't engage
Or .. too far outward , which would stick out and not work either
I guess this is a 3 person job ... lol
2 holding each side and one guy marking and measuring ..
It will be a lot easier after i make the larger "correct" size secondary clips.
I can slot those and move them without re-drilling.
The small ones would have been a "one shot deal" drill it wrong and i'm screwed.
so yeah .. larger secondaries on the drawing board
AND .. er .. didn't mean to hi-jack the thread , this appears to be a "for sale thread"
i guess i need to make a new one in the modifications garage .. oops
.. My Bad .. In my defense i just searched and replied without looking at what forum section it was posted in.
