950 miles in 25 hours, Prelude seat installed, picked up a box of parts, then a ZC motor in four totes = one loaded CRX

Very nice!

Funny to see a 1990 car with that much outward visibility, and now we need cameras to do that. Gotta love progress. :dizzy:

Took him out for a stroll while shopping this weekend.

Neat to see the attention he still gets. From thumbs up while driving to random questions in the parking lot. A lot of people like playing "Guess the year of the CRX". IF knowledgeable, most guess '88 or '89. Most other answers are going back into the "80s" or "early 90s Honda"...

Still works if they want to play.

for the last year my 90 CRX si with dohc zc has been sitting parked mostly, barely being used for the first time since getting it in 98, cause i got an 03' accord coupe a year ago which is now my main vehicle, but i'm trying to get myself to pay more attention to it like i used to and keep my interest in it where i want to work on it and stuff, cause i do plan on keeping it for a little while longer and not planning on selling it just yet,

i just got back in town from the holidays yesterday, so i started it up, put air in tires, adjusted idle slightly higher, cleared all the leaves, branches and other debris that was all stuck around places in the cowl and wipers and hood hinge areas, etc..... put my new registration sticker on and put an updated insurance id in it,
then drove it around and ran it through the gears and rpms real good, but i had a big smile on my face, just zooming off an exit ramp, kind of easing it into some torqy low gears and just slamming it into 2nd gear and flooring it around one of those U-turns that go from one side of the service road to the other, squealing tires and fishtailing out onto the other side of the service road and flooring it right onto the merge ramp of the other side back onto the highway, ........... just driving it around for the thrill of it.

but its great when you have'nt driven it for a while and have been used to driving an accord or some different car which lacks qualities the crx has, such as being able to do tight nimble fast cornering or hard braking at the last minute while it still being smooth, and stuff that has to do with it's lighter weight.
my 1st car = blue/gray 1986 CRX HF (had from 91-97)
my 2nd car = tahitian green 1991 CRX Si (had 97-98, totalled)
3rd & current car = white 1990 CRX Si, (98-present) painted dark blue, w/ ZC DOHC swap

Dusted/cleaned him up today. Still running well so no complaints.

There is a threat of rain today so he wont see much action today. :(

pulled the heads to see where the head gasket leak was cannot find it and don't have a feeler guage that small. I am planning on taking it to a shop to have it machined. I have not driven my baby in over two years. Next up, big brake swap.

That's from a UK company, "j-f-customs" on ebay. There's a recent thread here on the restoration subforum where they are discussed; title is "red stitch interior covers?!" I think it looks a bit too poofy, as it's an overlay. But YMMV.

Put the winter condom on the car yesterday, as the parking garage doesn't allow real car covers anymore. Took out the battery from the rear; going with a bigger Odyssey in a couple of months. Next month, hoping to throw on the foggies and cut out the bumper for them; might also tackle the parking pole as well, but that's a bit iffy. In the meantime, the EP3 is getting a Type R swap and I'm driving around a rental Fiat 500; so glad I got the EP3 instead of an Abarth. The rearward visibility in such a small clown car is totally unsafe, imho.

Thanks for the info :) The overlay probably won't bother me too much, that way I can swap out the door cards whenever I feel like it and just pop that cover off and on to match.

Today I finally got a chance to put the car on the lift and really inspect it. Hit a couple bolts that were starting to rust a bit on the suspension arms with some of that rattle can 'rust-to-black' stuff. Other than that, no rust to be found! Replaced the driver's side (USDM passenger) axle boot that had torn. Flushed the oil and changed the filter, replaced with Amsoil (brother is a dealer). Also topped off the power steering fluid... I think the pump has a small leak. Hit it with some carb cleaner, and will inspect it tomorrow. Tomorrow I will hopefully have a temp registration so I can stop riding dirty :P

Pulled the ICU. Lots of carbonization, all components were still fine. Got the board clean, installed jumper wires for one trace that had completely opened and one trace that was 90% burned through, touched up some solder joints that looked a bit damaged. And my side marker lights finally work again.

Cleaned him up today after a month or so...

While cleaning the left front wheel, I noticed something on the wheels that resembled grease...

Looking back to the inside of the wheel, there is grease present there too...

Im picking up a slight shimy while driving on the freeway that I believe is coming from the left side...

So the shimy and the grease, I suspect I have a driver side axle going. Will know more when I get under him in the coming weeks. I need to swap trans oil so this is a good time. Suspicion at this time.

Installed Momo hub, NRG quick release (thin version, and my horn works!!!) Momo 350mm steering wheel. Also installed the Goodrich steel-braided lines and flushed the entire brake system.

Now just waiting on the next track day event....

I got a new shell, just need to stop driving the DX so I can work on it.

I've got a filter for my mouth, it just isn't a good one.
