How to use the User Feedback forum

Postby jfrolang » Sun Nov 09, 2008 10:26 pm

1. When starting a new thread, use the person's screen name as the title. This will make the forum easier to search.

2. Keep all feedback on one individual to one thread, don't start a new thread if one already exists for that person.

3. Please no off-topic posts in this forum.

Couple questions -

1. So it's okay for me to make like 10-20 threads to cover all the people I've done business with, including all the good ones?? Probably just a few really worth talking about -

2. Or is this section just for feedback on sales that went sour??

This is for all feedback, good and bad. It is okay for you to make 20 threads for 20 people, if they don't already have their own threads. :)

Can we also make this about Businesses? I know some people liked what was said in the Panducky thread and wanted that to still be public (not really the blame of why it closed but how dealing with all the people at the shop was)

maybe for businesses list the Business name and then the first post should list the owners and employee(s)?

I'm leaning towards no, this forum is intended for feedback for and from members of this site. The three of you involved with Panducky have your own threads, so feedback can be placed there.

1. Is posting in your own feedback thread allowed - or just other members?

I see posts in the future of "hey that's BS" or "thanks dude" happening, wanted to know if that kind of thing is allowed.

2. Are general comments (conversation) allowed? I've already seen some of this. I would guess, no.

3. Going off Q #2, are strictly sales transactions the subject of this section, or is feedback about how, say someone helped you via email or PM with a problem, fair game. Example "hey all, member "joeblow" is a good guy, he figured my wiring problem out for me"

Yaaay questions!

1. I think, if you're responding to something somebody else said, I don't see a problem with it. You shouldn't be bumping with a "thanks dude" every time somebody posts in your thread though.

2. See new rule #3 in the original post.

3. The intent is to provide feedback based on sales only, since we have members worldwide and buyers send money based on trust alone. We can hopefully use this as a tool to help buyers judge who to deal with and who to avoid. When this site is working like it's designed, you have a different thread when you have a problem with your CRX and you can thank the person that helped you in that thread. When you're conversing with or advising someone via email, IM, or even phone, there isn't much at stake, and even people that know their stuff can be cheats when it comes to money.

A couple people asked me if it's ok to link to their feedback in their signature, I have no problem with that.

Another hint to make this forum easier to use: If you scroll to the bottom of the forum, you'll see a drop-down menu to sort the topics. Sort by Subject in Ascending order to put the threads in alphabetical order.

I found it redundant with this forum and the blacklist icon.
