Didnt get it finished this weekend like i had hoped had a few setbacks with the fuel pump not wanting to kick on now and a messed up drivers side caliper that im waiting on to come in...i did get my drilled and slotted rotors, ceramic pads, stainless brake lines, rear lower control arms, st rear sway bar, and 5 point mounting points in though, and rebuilt my front knuckles and installed new tie rod ends. Still gotta lot to do before the autox this weekend though...fix the caliper, figure out whats up with the fuel pump, install my traction bar and paint my cage (well maybe on these), install my racing seat and harnesses, and do my sunroof plug. Gonna be a lot of long nights ahead.

That list isn't too bad. Just keep chugging along. If you don't get the sunroof dome, you'll have more helmet room! Lol

na not for real...fixed the caliper and for some reason it started fine yesterday. Gonna cut out the sunroof plug tonight and probably paint the cage and put the front bumper back on. Then install it and the seat tomorrow...do the harnesses and battery tie down thursday night and if i get home early enough friday do my traction bar. If not its not a deal breaker just something i wanted to get done before its first race.

Sunroof plug almost done...Gotta finish it up tonight. Time got away from me. Got to seal it up and pop rivet it down and will have to respray it eventually. Think i might try to do a fake carbon fiber look on it (If it looks like poo i can always paint it back black).
Cut the roof off the donor
Image
trimmed the roof down and ground down the edges to overlay it on the car to pattern it.
Image
Image
Image
I then traced the inside and enlarged the shaped using a protractor an inch bigger the the hole for overlap and cut it to size using a metal cuttoff wheel.
Image
Heres some pics of it being lined up and where ive drilled my hole (about ever 2.5 inches with and extra in the corners). Ill get a somewhat finished pic of the sunroof plug tonight.

Finished up my sunroof plug and got it back to my house, gotta new windshield, my big racecar tach, and got my harnesses mounted...
Image
Repainted my cage cause it looked crappy the first time I did it....
Image
and now it looks like this lol...
Image
My Godspeed Coilovers will be here Friday and I went ahead and tore it apart in preparation. Also went ahead and did inner and outer tie rods since everything else it new there (except the upper control arms and lower arm bushings). I've gotta save up some money now to buy the hardrace upper control arms, some bushings for the lower arms, some rear wheel bearings and, rear trailing arm bushings, and the rear camber kit. Least that's the plan anyways before I buy my sparco seat, and some lighter, smaller, and wider wheels.

Got a lot done this weekend...Actually very happy with the quality of the Godspeed Coilover wish they had went with a different color though and had added some brake line mounts lol.
Image

Image
Also got my traction bar on...there's so much more room up there now.
Image
All I have to do now is alignment, oil change, bolt my seat in tomorrow when my mount comes in, roll my fenders, plasti-dip my numbers, and battery tie down and she should be autox ready. I will be so happy when I actually get to race this thing.

Been a minute since my last update....really waiting on money for parts. I did do my first autocross in it a 2 weeks ago and found out my steering rack is garbage. I had some light vibration up front under some spirited driving but it really shined out on course. O well...gonna miss the next event since ill be on vacation, but hoping to get it together before the one after that.
Image
I did pick up a little something something this weekend though Im excited about...

Very nice! I like the plug you made, it makes your hood pop out at us. Keep up the work, and post some times you are getting at the track!

Thanks guys...I'm waiting on parts right now to "finish the build" hahahaha... Neways I usually shop around for parts Amazon, Ebay, Velocity Speed Shop, Summit, Project Godspeed, AutoZone, Craigslist, Local Facebook Pages, ect... just to name a few. I pretty much shop around for the parts and try to find the best deals. I've ordered pretty much everything for the suspension so it'll be all new, got a new steering rack underway, some rota slips with nt05s, some hardrace control arms and bushings (which didn't know it at the time but have to be shipped from overseas) that'll be alright though its only 2 weeks. On the plus side I should have my seat installed today and maybe finish my dash and get it put back in.

Ahh! must be nice! I'm forced to run XP and in my region its against stripped, caged race cars and LSX powered tube frame kit cars. My poor little crx is not nearly competitive enough!

Been really busy here lately, but I've tried to squeeze in some work here and there...
new steering rack
Image
new suspension (hardrace uppers, toe arms, and rear trialing arm bushing, oem lowers up front, eibach rear camber kit and I sure a few other parts...
Image
Image
Image
I was having some camber issues on my passenger side and found out why...someone somewhere decided to use a huge bolt to hold the air box in and the control arm was sitting on it. It was a pain to get out since it had broke the mounting nut.
Image
Also did dot 4 in the system yesterday...Still gotta mount my seat and get and alignment and fresh fluids and it should be good to go for a while.

Awesome build so far but I have to ask, Why not put a d16a6 back in it and run STS? SMF is great because you get to do a lot of mods but it's a lot more competitive in SMF.

I could never run sts again since I did the roof and gutted it...plus ac would have to go back on and I never had the parts for that. I plan to boost it eventually, but right now its about getting the suspension and wheels and tires right, then comes the body, and finally hp.

Welp almost ready for its first track day with justtrackit...Gonna run Talladega Grad Prix Raceway (TGRP) on Sep. 19th 8)...Got the seat mounted in with some plates welded to the floor with some other pieces sandwiched between. Only issue I see SCCA having when I do an event with em is my seat mounts since theyre not "approved" but o well.
Image
also picked up some rota slips...just gotta find some center caps and some sticky rubber for em, but that will be next year
Image
I was just excited to find someone who had an in-ground rack to do my alignment though....still had to pull the fenders and bumper for em to get to everything though and it took 4 hrs just to get it rightish. I wanted more camber but they wouldn't do it.

Figured id try my hand at vinyl wrapping last night for the first time...The fenders got all chipped up when I rolled em even though I heated them up really well and they were starting to rust. I sanded em down and hit em with some back primer to keep em from getting worse till I paint the car next year and wrapped em in some carbon fiber vinyl...not the best job ever but it was my first time and they look good from 5 foot .

Nice work on the vinyl. I've been debating wrapping my whole car.

How much of a pain was that rack to install? I have a brand new on sitting in my garage but I'm such a procrastinator.

id like to get mine wrapped myself but ill probably just end up painting it for now and adding some stickers and such later...rack wasn't bad...worst part was working it in and out of the car...
