I changed from a very short and notchy B&M shifter to this and initially thought I had made a mistake. I changed all the bushes and even the plastic cage that covers the shifter ball so there was no play, but due to the nature of the design, i.e. the length of the shifter it feels completely different. Only way I can describe it is that it doesn't feel as precise compared to the B&M as it used to click into gears - but this is purely down to the length because before installing the upper part I changed gears with just the lower arm and it was the same as the B&M shifter.

Once I drove it for 5min I loved it, the positioning is so natural and the gear changes are smooth - one of the best mods by far in my opinion!

Hey bro i just ordered a set of Recaros for my REX just curious what kind of rails your using, i'm 5'11, trying to see if i can actually purchase rails for my rex that won't give me problems to fit inside instead of customizing the OEM ones. I have a pop up sunroof so i don't have as much clearance as a rex without one does.

I had a custom box section made which I bolted onto the base of the Recaros, then bolted the OEM crx rails onto the box section. I've got a glass roof so have a lot more clearance but have had 6ft tall passengers without issue.

The other option is this...

These were made for a group by on CRX-UK forum, but you can get the specs and have a machine shop make them up for you, it's nice to be able to run the OEM rails and not lose the option to move the seat back and forth. Just make sure they will work with your Recaros.

Without a doubt one of the nicest Rex's I've seen. Definitely the best "mugen" kitted one that I've ever seen. Well done.

Nothing big really, I'm not one of those that feels the need to change things for the sake of it, although I do get bored with wheels and that's really the only external thing that might change apart from the spoiler. I do plan to tidy the bay over winter though and finish installing the S2K dash.

All the bushings (well 99%) have been changed now...

Rear upper control arms replaced - pressed in new OEM Honda bushes
Rear toe arms replaced - pressed in new OEM Honda bushes
Replaced all shifter bushes with K-swap bushes
Replaced steering rack main 'O' bush - Energy unit
Replaced front anti roll bar mounting bushes - Energy units
Replaced front anti roll bar droplinks - blue print units
Replaced front upper arms with Skunk2 adjustable arms
Fitted brand new Energy bushes to front lower control arms

Rear LCA are F7's so these are obviously new and the trailing arm bushes had already been done.

Shouldn't have to worry about this for the life of the car now!

Thanks AZCRXSI!

Didn't have the right gear for the rolling shots and want to get the music turned down, but here it is anyway, let me know what you think.

Hmmm, Energy LCA bushings? Easy to replace once they go bad, but I hear that they speed up the tearing of other bushings and harsher ride quality, any words on the differences you're feeling in the Rex from before to after?

And the "o" vushing in the steering rack? which one is this one? I replaced that white steering rack bushing in my rack, it was a ROYAL PITA. Anyways, looking really good G4!

With the uprated engine mounts and traction bar the energy front LCA bush is the least of my worries lol. But to be fair I don’t find the whole setup that harsh, it’s obviously harsher than standard but the 60A mounts and traction bar made the biggest difference, the new bushes are negligible. The car will only see around 5k miles a year so I’m not worried about them deteriorating .

The O ring on the steering rack the is big O ring for the PAS rack, it was fiddly but the guy doing it had done a few before so knew the tricks I guess.

If I’m completely honest it didn’t transform my car, most of the original bushes that came off were in pretty good shape, I’ve owned the car from when it had only done 30-40k in Japan and have looked after it since. The steering is very precise and the handling is great, I guess people see a big difference if their bushes are on their last leg, especially stuff like the rear trailing arm bush.

I’m glad I changed everything though, another thing off the list for at least another 10+ years.
