Feels like plastic, because it is plastic :)

Honestly, I hate metal shift knobs. They are scorching in the summer and freezing in the winter.

So I found these wheels for sale on Craigslist. My friend in Seattle has been itching for a set of these wheels for years. They are 16" OZ Ultraleggera's; they will look perfect on his black 96 Civic hatch. Picked em up for super cheap and came with an extra set of tires.

Anyway, I figured I would throw em on the Rex and snap some pics to make him jealous while he waits.

Nah, too big. They're awesome rims, though - have been my summer rims on my other car for about 8 years. Tough as nails and have been through two powder coatings. Your friend will like them.

I agree with tommy here; just a tad too big for this chassis.

16" is too big?!?!?!? 16" would be the max I would ever put on a CRX.

They look great! They are super strong too. Was looking for a set back when I had my RT4WD. What size tires are on them?

To be honest 16s are the biggest I would go. Running 16s now and love them. More so in the twisties. Don't have to worry about side wall movement.

But everyone has an opinion of what they like best. So go with that...

Just inflate the 15's more. :P

I know that I couldn't drive on NJ/NY/PA streest on 16's; TX wouldn't have that problem. But cosmetically I do like a bit less rim on the rim/tire combo, but that's me. YMMV.

They obviously fit fine :)

As tommy said; it's just a personal appearance thing. To me, a 15" wheel with a 195/50/15 is the best looking wheel/tire on the CRX.

vanrij; the tires are 205/40/16.

I just shipped them off to my friend last night, so I'm back on the stock wheels. I'm itchy for aftermarket wheels now!

Good afternoon all,

Pao first and foremost! Your car is frickign AMAZING! :-)b

Just read through the whole thread. HOLY BALLS. When you put it up for sale...holy [crud] I was so mad. I am happy you kept it! I was thinking. If you ever get the idea to sell it again. Just remember your signature. "Been in love with 88-89 civic/crx since I was 8"

Love like that.....has no price on it. You've inspired me to clean the funk outta my rex. Just took off the aftermarket headlights that I bought it with, to return the stock lights.

Great thread man. I really enjoyed reading it. THANK YOU!

I broke down and replaced the main relay a couple days ago. The relay was dying a slow and painful death; especially in the TX heat. Starts up nicely now; it's the little things.

When I first got my CRX, Tian90 hooked me up with a main relay he repaired. That fixed those intermittent starts immediately. It's nice when you only have to turn the key once.

Yeah my main relay joints were all sorts of jacked up. Wasn't interested in spending the time to repair solder joints so I just bought a new one.

I took my CRX in for state inspection finally. First time was actually a few weeks ago; car failed for high NOx. Honestly knew it would fail becauuse I have it running lean with a ton of ignition advance; however I just needed to get a baseline on the emissions. It almost passed, but had high NOx at the high speed test:

This is why I love tuning so much though. Everyone at the dealership told me I needed to buy a new cat. I was pretty confident in the 23 year old Honda cat so I just decided to tune it for emissions. Reverted to stock timing maps, and tuned for 14.7 AFR at test conditions:
