Hey buddy! It's awesome to see progress on the car! You're the owner this thing desperately needs. This kid is the reason I was able to get mine repaired and painted, thank you, Zack.
Zack bought this car from me. I received the car in this condition and did absolutely nothing to it. I traded a really clean stock EF 4 door for this CRX and it came with freshly rebuilt B16 to put in it, it was just going to be a race car. I quickly got overwhelmed with the project and lost complete interest. It sat in my backyard untouched for nearly 6 months, getting fired up and driven a mile or two once a week to keep the battery charged. It is one of the fastest B16 CRXs I've been around, that transmission is GOLD, do NOT get rid of it.
To be honest, I thought Zack was another tire kicker. I had received tons of interest in the car from a bunch of the local Honda-scene people who were just trying murder me on my asking price. When he told me he was in Atlanta I figured nothing would happen. He lets me know one night, "I'm on my way!" and drove through the night and arrived at my house early the next morning.
We had to jury-rig the car to get it to start because one of the main fuses was blown out. I wouldn't let Zack drive because this thing was scary with the horrible steering, brakes and suspension. We get out on a main road and I just drop the clutch and we haul ass down the street, topping out 3rd gear. Zack was completely silent. As I started to slow down, he went "Whoooo!" I knew the deal was done then.
I'll brag about your engine a little bit. 8)
-JDM B16A, bottom end completely rebuilt will all OEM rings, bearings, gaskets. ~3000 miles on rebuild when Zack bought it
-Cylinder head was tested and checked out with flying colors, nothing done to it except gaskets.
-Crankshaft was knife-edged and balanced
-ARP head studs
-ITR pistons
-Fidanza lightened flywheel
-Headers
-Mugen tuned ECU with rev limit at 9500.
-Xsi transmission with LSD
I had a good experience with Zack and his father, they were both very polite and I enjoyed doing business with them. They made a reasonable offer on the car and I decided to let it go, hoping it would be reborn someday. I am really glad to see it's getting restored. I will be checking on this thread frequently, so keep the updates coming along! I'm glad you're enjoying the car. Goodluck!

P.S. I got mine all repainted and fixed up. It looks great, and I'm preparing to do a little motor swap myself. Check it out.
