I dont mind chinachargers on low boost, they seem to work, but the godspeed manifolds are sure to crack

Yeah I suppose what I purchased were fabbed up overseas but they seemed a little better than most of the stuff on eBay so I'm hoping they hold up for at least a year. Didn't wanna fork out a couple grand for the turbo and manifold.

Will be buying a good wastegate though.

Manifold had poor fitment so I got my money back.

Bought a ramhorn Manifold instead. Also bought a half-size Skunk2 Alpha series radiator and Hondata s300 v2. After they come in I should be able to piece everything together and get it fired up.

you don't want to spent good money on a turbo, then you buy a old version of the s300? I hope you got a deal.

Old? It's the second to last version. Why would I pay $200 more for Bluetooth capabilities? My PC works just fine...

And yes it was a package deal but still I believe tuning software comes before quality turbo. Esp on a budget.

I guess I said that wrong.
if a dealer sold you a v2, because a v3 "only has bluetooth" doesn't know much about the v3. the v3 is a redesign of the s300. it's a "new" approach to the same thing. if you paid over $400 for the v2, you were taken. (dealers get the v3 for $3xx)
this is where I'd normally post the cost different of neptune vs hondata (and each of their benfits), but you've made your choice and these would be my opinions

I guess my point was, being on a budget (we all are to a point) doesn't mean cheaping out on one part, to overpay on another. didn't mean to turn this into a argument or anything.

"only has bluetooth" was my reasoning. In my opinion that's the only major upgrade to the v3 that the v2 doesn't have. I mean yeah it's got a few other things but nothing I would need. I bought the v2 and p28 together already installed and ready to plug into my harness. Which was by far cheaper than what Hondata had the v3 package for. It was bought through another member in here.

The parts I am cheaping out on will be replaced down the road with bigger and better but a cheap turbo and manifold will not hurt my motor in any way which is why those are going to be temporary until I can fund something more expensive/quality.

I know you aren't trying to argue, I'm not either. I like hearing what other people have to say ya know, we all learn something.

A cheap turbo can definitely ruin your engine, Ive personally seen one fill an intercooler with oil. i wouldnt expect an engine destroying failure to happen, but dont think it cant. A crack in the manifold can also cause the car to run very lean before you notice it.

My first, and last, chinese tubular manifold stranded me far from home after dropping my wastegate on the highway. If you want to be cheap, get a cast manifold, wont ever fail you or the cheap parts you bolt to it

Yeah I mean you're right cheap turbos could but it's not "likely". For the time being this crx isn't going to be a DD, more weekend and track driving mostly so If parts do fail I won't be stranded like you :( haha jk

And I hope this mani doesn't crack it's 3.1mm thickness. Got quite a few welder buddies at my old machine shop that could repair any junk welds on it.

How did it drop your wastegate? Hate that happened to you.

Here is a few picture updates of my car. Successfully got it running yesterday! So excited haha.
The first mani didn't fit so I get this one and it fits great and is fabbed up good too.

Took my fuel tank out to swap in the new Walbro and found out the fuel line inside the tank was tore to pieces. Which is why my car wouldn't run! Argh oh well. New pump in and it fired right up.

Get a oem sohc for the pump!!! If not you might have issues when low on fuel. BTW those injectors are so badass! There the same ones I have on my F2b 4dr, the fuel atomization is amazing!

I'm sorry what do you mean oem sohc pump? lol

And hell yeah dude I heard nothing but good reviews on the injectors, Jeffrey hooked me up and thank you for the suggestion.

I was messing with the s300 and saw where I change the fuel injector settings I was pretty excited about that.

Sh*t I already put the walbro sock on. Was a tad smaller than my old one (half the size) but was a lot cleaner haha.

Thanks and I couldn't have asked for a better fitment. It used the passenger side stock bracket and the lower passenger side bracket on the crossmember. They give you a tab to weld to the crossmember for the right side but it's not needed. I'll get to it eventually though.

razordave wrote:what are you running for rims? 17s? looks like a monster truck with that fender gap.. tuck em!! ;)

Rims rims rims they are 17" wheels that I'm using to haul the car around the yard lol I have a set of Si's with new tires going on it when I get the alignment straight. And trust me you're not the first person to call it a monster truck lol but it's all good I'll get some suspension for it eventually. Not to worried about it at the moment though.

Nice pics of the tank and pump.

I need to do that once I am finished up with the paint/body/motor.

First thing afterwards will be new tank, pump and anything else I can find back there...

Yup there's lots of 23 year old stuff back there that could be replaced. New tank would be awesome good luck!

Hey guys. Haven't posted in here in a while so thought I'd give an update. I still have the car just not the funds. I decided to go on a whole different approach with the crx. I took my riced out 1996 civic and made it almost 100% stock. I absolutely love how the civic drives now and I want to do the same thing with the crx. It won't be as much as a restoration as it will be a resto-mod because I'm still keeping it obd-1 and running the s300. I'm not going turbo because I want the car to be as reliable as possible without putting a hole in my wallet. I don't have any pics but they will come as soon as I get them. As of right now the crx has it's motor pulled out so I can raise the compression and get it away from 8:1.

Hey guys. Here's the yearly update of my Si. She has a rebuilt stock d16z6 block and head. Full obd1 conversion. P28 s300v2. It has a Skunk2 intake and new throttle body for future boost. It's getting the full HKS exhaust. It has new pads, rotors, axles, clutch, flywheel, distributor, gaskets, seals, o-rings, belts, fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel pump assembly, sending unit, fuel filter, all fuel crush washers, banjo bolts, rear taillamp gaskets, and full EVAP delete. She idles beautifully and runs great. I haven't yet decided on wheels or tires. It's currently getting body work and rolling on plastidipped Si's temporarily. I'll also be doing a full suspension upgrade as well. My dream CRX is coming together. When I'm satisfied with my CRX , I'd like to restomod an NSX. My CRX shouldn't take too much longer. I've started a new career as a tech diagnosing and repairing all types of new cars. I'm working the flat-rate system pretty well so I should have some extra dough for the CRX. I need a name for it. A few pics..
