I would do a leak down test!

I can do that with the motor out?

Yes as long is there is a trans and starter connected.

Well I sold the turbo manifold and turbo along with the head.
I'm going to use the same block and slap a z6 head on it and run everything obd1.
For now I'm gonna get a decent manifold and Godspeed turbo maybe. Not gonna go crazy with it at this point cause I lost my job. Just gonna get it running and push around 10-15psi.

Meanwhile I cleaned the bay up a bit and painted it.

I have a z6 head but it needs to be rebuilt so that is my next step.

Engine bay looks nice! Are you going to check the rings on the a6/ replace?

Bought most of the parts to build the motor right. Still need a couple of things.

Shaved my z6 valve cover and painted it wrinkle black. Just finished with the cure time.

My ARP studs came in the day after I ordered them. Thanks Summit.

Got a new stock hood. Thanks Remy.

Si tranny cleaned up.
ARP studs in.
Cleaned head up and installed new valve seals from Honda.
And a pic of my Daily which I've had for almost two years.

Also, I bought these 850cc injectors "Smartfire" thinking it was a good deal. $154. Tried to put them in my skunk2 intake and wouldn't fit anyway possible. Then I looked at the reviews and saw how [crummy] they were so I got my money back. I'll look at reviews next time before I purchase.

To be honest I'm not quite sure. Some type of aluminum it feels like but I'll get a pic of it soon and post it.

I've yet to buy the turbo or manifold but it will be external more than likely.

That's what I'm saving up for right now (turbo, mani, wastegate, injectors, ecu).

I thought the HF mani was your choice, but looking at the last picture it looks like you just installed that to drop the engine in.

Yup, you're correct. Just used it to drop it in.

New mani and turbo are on the way!   No, No, nothing crazy. Something basic to get my feet wet.

godspeed is about the best ebay turbo you can get....
"ebay turbo"
BUT... the manifolds are hard to beat. (like replica parts inc)

Godspeed, cxracing, and emusa are the better of the china brands. From what I seen first hand they look like there balance which will help with the life of the turbo.

At the same time they will make less power per the size of the turbo when compared to PTE, BW, ect

the turbos make less power per size, I believe due to the find design. (compressor/turbine)
I base that on my talks with a turbo engineer, and how he built my turbo.
to a point you can extract much more power out of a t3 sized turbine, than jumping to a T4 sized.
this only hold true if you are modifying your turbine as well.
the cost for most is beyond whats its worth (cheaper to go larger turbo, than custom wheels)

There are so many turbo choices that going custom now is almost pointless. Hell even the choices of t3 base turbos is HUGE!

that's about as ignorant as it comes sir.
just because they made the customs production, doesn't reduce the need of of going custom.
this huge selection of turbos that are out there, are BECAUSE people wanted custom, and got them, and they preformed well enough, more people wanted them. BOOOOOOM production part.

custom is where things start.

like the huge selection of pre-made manifolds.
I guess one custom for me is POINTLESS.

It is 99% pointless

Unless you are trying to so something radical there is no need for custom. I get what you are trying to say, but as it stands there is more options then needs. Just a fyi, I know all to well about custom :-)b

ahhh, e-peen. guess we are done here.

the point still stands, there is always good reason for custom anything. if there wasn't most hobbies would be dead, including ours.

Like I said I understand your point. BUT at the moment, given the amount of different turbos that cover just about every need, you really DONT need a custom one. There is always a need for custom parts, that I do not argue with you.

That is the reason I built the d2b, it is also the reason for me building the front facing manifold. D2b shifts the motor over by 1", not a lot but given the turbo im running nothing off the shelf would suit my needs thus I built what I needed. :-)b
