Rex running, not spinning tires

Postby VolRex » Thu Jul 29, 2010 9:30 pm

Alright, I just did a swap and it fires up, rev the engine and it's all good. However, I cannot get the front tires to move. I had the hardest time putting the driveshafts in, and I'm wondering if that's what it is. My cousin can spin the tires in the opposite direction as I'm in gear and while the clutch is in, with little to no difference. Any other ideas or is it that I have the wrong driveshafts or they are in incorrectly?

Axles = driveshafts

I dropped a D15B2 in it and bought some axles from Autozone, I believe they are Duralast. I kept my old tranny, but the boots were torn on the axles, so I replaced them

Also, I can pop the car in and out of gear with the motor running and without pushing the clutch. Would this also be caused by the axles not being in place?

Yeah, that is probably it. One time I had my axles replaced by a shop and two days after, I was making a turn and my car flew out of gear. I could shift in and out of gears without the clutch, I though it was a bad clutch but when I took it back to the shop they didn't put the axles in correctly and it fell out when I was driving. So it sounds like your driveshaft/axles are not in the tranny correctly.

Make sure that they didn't sell you HF axles. Those are too small for your hub. It's happened to me before.
