Should I get a resonator?

Got a problem with your stock CRX? This is where you should start.

Should I get a resonator?

Postby guardian003 » Tue Dec 27, 2016 3:37 pm

So I have a loud muffler on my 88 si. Would installing a resonator help in reducing the noise or should I change the muffler? What would be best?

It sounds stupid loud when going downhill on highway lol :D

Would just installing a resonator make a significant difference? I do like how the muffler looks and want to spend the least I can.

Do you know what muffler this is?Image

I can tell you it doesn't belong on the CRX.

Since your muffler isn't stock, I doubt the rest is. Get a resonator, it's supposed to be there.
I got a new shell, just need to stop driving the DX so I can work on it.

I've got a filter for my mouth, it just isn't a good one.

Why are you collecting rainwater with your muffler?

no idea what exhaust that is, but if you're looking for a stock-ish replacement, this is what i have. cheap, sounds good enough, and it works.

I have a dc sports header to full HKS silent power on my 89 si. Not loud and nice throaty sound when on the throttle. If you want to get rid of the ricey sound a resonator is the way to go
I like my women like my CRX. Short, sexy, and with a rear end that makes you say "I bet she handles like a dream"
