B16A1 clutch cable

Postby Tasos_7R » Sun Jan 15, 2017 8:28 am

I have a VT model (with original B16A1 engine) and i want to replace the clutch cable. I can't find anywhere to buy one, but there are some that i guess they are for D16A6 engines. Is it the same lenght as the B16A1 one?? Can it fit on my car withour any problems??

Part number is: 22910SH3A05 . And i think the B16A1 is: 22910SH3023

Thanks,
Tasos.

I think they are the same. I will compare when I get the chance. FYI, the early integra DA is usually a safe bet for parts forward of the firewall on the EE8.

Thanks! That would be great if you could compare them. I need to replace mine because it's causing a sqeaking noise every time i push the clutch pedal and i think it's the cable than have been wear out over the years. I've searched for DA clutch cable but no luck either...

Ok, looks like the D series cable is 50mm longer than the B. The ends are the same. The integra cable has a formed bend, about 30°, at the firewall. It seems to me that they all can be made to work... if you have a squeak in the pedal, could it be worn out pedal pivot bushings?

Thanks for the info! :-)b Well i guess it could work, but i wouldn't have a lot of room for adjustability... I have try to lubricate the pedal, but the squeak continues. I'll try to unbolted and see if i can find a solution. It doesn't seem too easy though to get to the bolt under there... Is the pivot bushing available to replace it or i have to make a custom piece if that's the case??

If it were me, I'd try a spray lube and see if it helps any. If not, save the effort of removing the assembly and look elsewhere.

Edit: looks like the parts interchange. http://www.bestpartstore.co.uk/835578

Well thanks for your help! It looks like they are interchangable, at least according to that site. When i'll have some free time and the weather gets better i'll try to remove the clutch pedal to see the condition of the bushing, maybe put some custom new bushings and lubricate it properly.

Small things like that some times makes me think of going hydro clutch... but that's not an easy task either to do it right. :frusty: :headache:
