ID my transmission?

Postby jzxcrx » Thu May 18, 2017 12:00 pm

I'm looking at buying 2 used transmissions supposed to be for HF CRX.

Is there a way to I.d. Them according to the number tag?
L3-1063418
L3-2487997

If they are cheap enough I'm going to practice rebuilding one or both for my '91 HF.

$50 each for unknown transmissions.

One is 88-early 89, other is 90-91

What are the casting codes?

Both are small 35mm cases, so could be DX, EX or HF.

About 20 years ago I figured out the casting codes after getting a few what was thought to be Si cases which were really DX cases.

Your going to need to put it in gear and compare the input shaft turns to differential turns. See this thread for details. viewtopic.php?t=246
