Another disc break conversion question.

Postby jajajakecarter » Fri Feb 03, 2017 4:45 pm

This is my first time doing anything with breaks and not quite sure how drum breaks are mounted to the car. I read the write up on disc break conversion, but it just vaguely says 'break setup' for parts needed. Would I be able to take the drum break off the hub somehow or is it a part of the whole rear end? My parts list as of now consists of:
New pads
90-91 si calipers
New rotors front and back
E break line
2040 prop valve
My Black 89 CRX Si is the love of my life.

Unbolt drum brake trailing arm along with lines/cables and bolt up disc brake trailing arm.

You need "brakes", not "breaks".

The drums and disks mount to different trailing arms so you need to replace those.
I got a new shell, just need to stop driving the DX so I can work on it.

I've got a filter for my mouth, it just isn't a good one.

It's pretty self explanatory if you read and follow the pics.It says unbolt the old and bolt on the new set up. It even shows pics of the entire trailing a assembly on the car.
