205/50r15 tires on 15x7et35 wheels - fitment?

Postby OculiAquilae » Thu Feb 16, 2017 12:29 pm

I'm looking at buying a set of Advanti DST Storm S1 wheels in Matte Grey at 15x7et35 with 205/50r15 Dunlop Direzza DZ102 tires, but I'd like some input as to the fitment before I buy them.

Wheels: https://www.tirerack.com/wheels/WheelCl ... toModClar=

Tires: https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.js ... mpare1=yes

I know what the change in fitment will be: http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.php?wi ... offset2=35

Tirerack suggests/says they'll all fit, but I want to get some actual CRX owners' thoughts first. I know a 35 offset is close for a 15x7, especially with a 205/50r15 tire, but do you think they'll fit and clear everything? IF yes, how bad (if at all) do you think they'll poke out?
They'd be at stock ride height for a couple months, then I'm installing Ground Control + Koni Yellow combo (coilovers).... I only plan to drop 1" or so if possible.

Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

15x7 +35 with 205/50-15 tires is practically ideal. The actual fitment on your vehicle will depend on the ride height. Worst case you'll roll the inner lip on the fenders and you might get some minor rubbing when turning at maximum lock. With a 1" drop you shouldn't even be concerned.

Seriously!? By my measurements, I'll have .5" to 1" of poke beyond the fenders at stock ride height, does that sound correct to you? So if that setup is "practically ideal", what would you say would be the MOST ideal offset for tires and wheels of that size? I've read +40....?

Regardless, your thoughts are I shouldn't have any rubbing, and if I do, it'll be minor?
Like I said, I was wanting some input from CRX owners specifically before I jump on this and they interfere with suspension components or really rub haha.

Thanks again.

I have run that exact tire on 15x7et35 ultraleggeras, no fender rolling, lowered to 1 finger without compensation for camber. It was perfect for me.

Edit- my EDM front end is not 100% interchangeable with USDM replacement parts. It couldn't be more than 5mm per side different, if at all, but I'd be a dick for not pointing that out.
Keep it real. This is the only Honda forum worth my time. You make it happen.

Mathematically ideal for a 7" wide wheel is about +37 or 38. But those are uncommon offsets.

Tire Rack are fitment Nazi's, if they say it will fit, it will.

Thanks to all! I can now buy with peace of mind.
As I said I'll eventually be dropping.... well, we'll see how much, but for now I'm saying an inch or so, but it may be more. 1-2 fingers sounds nice. I may get camber arms to correct, but we'll see. And thanks for specifying you have an EDM front bumper. I'm sure that won't make MUCH of a difference. Doubtable enough to cause any real difference, but I'll let you all know once the setup arrives and it's warm enough to test out!

It'll be 60-65 this weekend, but then its supposed to drop back to normal temperatures of 35 or so :(

How did you like the tires? The tires I had on my previous car, 06 Acura TL 6MT, were Michelin Pilot Super Sports. I'm hoping these will feel similar- between the car's differences in suspension, ride height, weight, power, etc....and I wasn't wanting to shell out for RE-71r's as my first tire on the CRX.
