Can't find a 2040 valve

Postby Crxtremecrx » Wed Mar 08, 2017 10:44 pm

I am doing just the rear conversion. I am having a hard time finding a 2040 out of the 90-91 si. Can I just use a 4040 or what?

You shouldn't need it, just the MC. Get one from an 88-91 Civic EX (15/16ths bore). It bolts up without having to change the line routing, and you don't need to change the booster.

Prop valve will change the amount of fluid going to the front:rear, and that is dependent on the cylinder bore and travel in the caliper. You likely don't need to change that, and if it's a race car, get an adjustable one so you can change it per event/track.

I just paid $50 shipped for a used one off flea bay last month, workin well so far. They're usually cheaper than a 4040. There's a couple of places that still had NOS ones for around $220 shipped. I wouldn't do the 4040 valve unless you are doing a DA swap front and rear. I'm sure some of the more seasoned guys will chime in with some good advice
I like my women like my CRX. Short, sexy, and with a rear end that makes you say "I bet she handles like a dream"
