195/50/r16 on a CRX?

Postby adc2k2 » Sat Apr 15, 2017 9:41 pm

HI everyone,

I've found a set of 16" rims that I'd like to purchase and put on my CRX.

The seller has said that they have been removed from a 96 Civic.

They are 4x100 with 195/50/r16 tires.

Would they fit? Would I run into any issues?

Thanks in advance. I'd appreciate any insight on this.

195/50-16 is a little bit big for a CRX but they will fit and work. I would prefer to see a 205/40-16 or 215/40-16 tire.

I'm curious too, but if they came off a 96 Civic they should be fine. I'm more interested in the width.

That was my thought, if they came off a 6th gen, it should be fine, both with OS and width too?

Yeah I don't mean to imply that the width of the wheels would make them not fit. I mean it would be a disappointment to see 195 tread width tires on 7" wide wheels. That's just leaving grip on the table. And it would really be a crime if this setup was a stretched disaster on 8" wides.
