Adding switch and relay to my fuel pump for kill switch

Postby bazoodie » Sun Apr 26, 2015 12:45 pm

Stock '91 Dx........thinking of adding a tad of basic security (switch and relay to fuel pump). Where is the best location to pull my power from so that the pump will energize only during the ignition "on" and with the car running?

You dont need to interupt the power wire, interupting the ground has the same effect, a simple toggle switch works perfect and is easy to conceal (I see no need for a relay, especially when interupting ground myself)

The easiest place would be under the cargo box/back seat but that is also the first place a "determined" thief may think to look, you can follow the wire to a more hidden spot yourself.

Fuel kill is worthless to do. Put it on the main relay ground instead.
