Have a 1987 CRX SI. My driver's seat needs re upholstering. I am wondering if the hardware on the driver and passenger seats can be swapped so that the nearly unused passenger seat is on the driver side?
Anyone have experience with that ? Thanks, Bill
Yes, the foam and cover at least.
Probably will have to make some minor adjustments but I'd bet it'll swap over.
Hog rings. Pay attention to the disassembly/assembly. Go for it.
Yes, there isn't any reason you can't swap the foam and fabric from the passenger seat to the driver seat.
Just pay attention to what you're doing when you're doing it.
Thank you for all the good suggestions. I had considered swapping the foam/fabric but was not sure how I would do that. But before I could go further with this project two of my friends who are car lovers went together and paid for a local area auto upholstery shop to completely rebuild the seat. $375 it was. Did a very nice job too and the shop was able to come very close to matching the factory fabric. So it looks great. Only thing, they are a busy shop and it took a little over a week for them to get done with my car. Again thanks for the helpful responses.
