fs/wtb by regions?

Postby xxEDDIExx » Fri Dec 16, 2011 12:52 am

i think it would be a good idea to make that part of the forum have diffrent regions, norcal, socalc ect ect with the rest of the united states, canada and so forth. it would be alot easier that way we know were we can find region specific post instead of having to scavange through the forum now to find on from our areas.... any thoughts?

or just have your area listed in your location.

We don't need more sub forums.

I can see how it would be helpful for large items like cars, dash, etc. or items that people don't want to ship. Not everyone has all the time in the world to click on every post in the classifieds.

Maybe what would help on both fronts, with showing locations as well as limiting the need for multiple region subforums, is if we had a requirement that the state initials be put in the subject title.

It should be a requirement to show your location under your avatar.

This should be one of the rules for posting in classifieds.

I absolutely agree with this idea, if you can't even list your location then why be allowed to post items for sale.

Right, because everyone "reads" the classified rules. :rolleyes1:

It is that easy on other sites that enforce the classified rules they usually give one warning and after a day if nothing is done the thread is removed. Simple.

Do we really have enough traffic for this? Threads stay on the 1st page of the parts for sale forum for about a week, sometimes more.

I think the result of making sub-forums would be more detrimental than beneficial. I foresee buyers missing out on deals from nearby regions just because they didn't look in that forum, sellers getting less exposure, threads being misplaced, or classified "spam" from people cross-posting in multiple regions.

I think you should just read the titles of what is being listed for sale (titles are already required to be descriptive), take a look at the seller's location (it's already a requirement to list this), and then decide for yourself if you are willing to deal with shipping for that item.
