Just heard from Evasive; instead of July, my CE28 Club Racers will be at Evasive (SoCal) next week, and back to me the week after-ish. So things are moving on the CRX much quicker than I had expected. :greenbanana:

Which means I have to figure out the order of everything. I should put rims other than the RNRs on the car before I drop it off at Xenocron to get tuned, I'd think. So either put on the RPF1s, then tune, then the CE28s. Or have the tires swapped over from the RPF1s to the CE28s (the tires probably have about 2-300 miles on them, same with the RPF1s), then get it tuned, then start to get everything else ready for N25. i've got a [crap]load of stuff to do, but if I can get the car tuned with no codes, I'll feel much better about everything.

So by mid-May, I should have two sets of rims for sale - the RNRs and RPF1s, both powdercoated, in great shape (except for the RNRs being out of round and me not knowing if they can be saved, honestly) - pics of both sets of rims are in my build thread. Have a look and let me know if any interest (Ryan!!!) before I throw them up on the classifieds. And yes, i could fit one set in the rex for the drive up to Niagara if that would help a sale.

And I did decide on center caps - hyper gold. Had the silly Tegiwa brake booster done in that color, and if and when I get Wilwoods, I'll get them done in that too - will mostly match the Hybrid Racing shifter too. Pretty!

It sure felt great when I tested it in the garage. 8) I have a radio block-off plate I'm waiting on to finish the install. I'm really anxious to see how it feels on the road test. Other than you, I know 2 other's that just installed them into CRX's recently as well. :-)b

You know, your car is roadworthy even without a radio blockoff plate. I'm just sayin'.

Thanks for verifying, I thought it might be.

Just haven't had time to drive it yet, the weather's been terrible and I also have motorcycle fairings sitting all over the car. Still waiting on the Hybrid Racing shift knob to show up that's on back order...

Installed a Hybrid Racing black shift knob. Took awhile to get because it was on back order.

Ouch, that's going to be hot. :target:

Had my tires from the RPF1s put on the new CE28 Club Racers. Now both sets are back in my living room, making for lovely decorations until I sell the RPF1s and slap on the Volks at the end of the month.

I'm amazed how common that issue is with our cars.

Agreed. A stupid plastic piece. I hope these last as long. Looks like a quick install assuming the pedal lever and switch give me enough room.

I changed mine out a couple months ago, the original one lasted 24 years. The clutch piece I changed out twice so far. It'll take you longer to get under the dash (and back out) than it will to replace the piece.

Ok, good to know. Thanks :-)b I ordered 2 as it appears the clutch pedal stopped is MIA as well.

WTF were they thinking, using cheap plastic that only lasts (checks calendar) 29 years???

lol

Adding the stopper back to the clutch pedal, do I need to be concerned about cable adjustment?

Tried to get new wheel hubs and bearings installed at the machine shop, but ran into a huge problem! They won’t spin after being installed. The parts are said to fit on the car but they don’t! The people at the machine shop are saying that I probably have a different part that is housing them. I don’t know what to do. Any one have any ideas that might help?

There really isn't much that can go wrong with this job. Where you given wrong or poorly made bearings? Did a previous owner change your front knuckles to some other model?

Finally finished the paint job

Postby goatharper » Sun Jun 02, 2019 4:39 pm

Posted this pic back in December when I bought my HF:

Image

Previous owner threw in some rattle cans of red paint, and as I am on a budget, I decided that the project motto would be "can't make it look worse!" I had to work outdoors, so wind conditions caused numerous delays, and it was just yesterday that I finally was able to shoot the roof and A pillars, the last bits. It's definitely a "good from far, but far from good" paint job, but it's an improvement, I think.

Image

Didn't even wash it for the pic, so you get bugs on the bumper and all. It's a farm truck by usage, but lovingly cared for and very appreciated.

Pounded in the Volk Hyper Gold center caps into my CE28 CRs. Those tolerances are tight! :club:
And have to order another one; one of them didn't want to go in, and I fully mangled it.

Just set up my tuning appt with Xenocron for the 26th, next week. Boo-ya! Will have to throw on the CE28s before then; weather was too off and on yesterday to do anything. Will be fun to drive the car 10 miles with a 200 rpm idle. :dizzy:
