The color on the wheels looks gooooood. Seems like a fast turn around too. Last set I did they sat on them for four weeks. What did they charge you by the way? I'm looking forward to seeing them mounted. What tires are you putting on them?

A friend of a friend charged me $350 for the set of 4 including prep and turned them around in like 3 days

As for tires I'm just gonna use the Yokohamas I have on there now still have 7-8/32 tread left, Just waiting for my lug nuts to arrive this thursday then I'll mount everything up

Started throwing some parts on the car, Installed the new struts and alignment
Image

Also installed the new parking brake cables (Worst job EVER such a PITA to sneak the passenger side cable in)!!

Picture of my new lip, factory si lip

Midious 91 CRX/// New wheels and big brakes

Postby midious » Sun Mar 25, 2012 11:59 pm

So last week I was driving around when I started to smell my brakes burning, brake pedal was rock hard and car stopped for crap. Had a frozen front caliper and the other one was very sticky. So I figured what better time then now to upgrade the front brakes a little :)

Contacted Brian at fastbrakes and he overnighted me the front brake kit, he was very easy to deal with even though I called kinda last minute

Image

My lug nuts finally came in, only took forever.....

Image

And now onto the work

Old worn out front brakes
Image

Busted up old wheels
Image

Painted up the new calipers
Image

New wheels lugs and 11' front brakes
Image

Kit was VERY easy to install. If you can change brakes, calipers, a prop valve and bleed brakes this shouldnt take more then 2 hours. During the process I found my left front knuckle is bent, probobly from an accident at some point in her life.

Finish one job find one or two more that need doing. Its a rule of crx ownership haha

And lastly

I like the new look :D

Yes on the rear, No on the front. Front is a fastbrakes conversion kit no knuckle replacement required

Wow, put together that looks really really good. Any first impressions on the fastbrakes kit? I bet its a huge improvement. The kit uses a bigger calipers right? Any need to move up from the stock 7/8" master cylinder?

I hear ya on the "rule" you mentioned. Every time I turn a wrench on my CRX I find something that needs work!

Thank you! Always nice when other enthusiasts like your work :)

And I ended up going to the 7/8 mc from the 13/16 due to failure of the old one. Pedal travel is good, Braking power is insane, the only thing limiting brake force is the amount of grip, even with cheapo aftermarket pads. Kit I got from fast brakes was just the bracket and hardware. I purchased 91 teg calipers and 91 vw corrado g60 rotors no redrill required

Postby midious » Thu Aug 15, 2013 12:31 am

Well so far this year I had the cams springs ect installed as well as having the car tuned.

Had some oil leak issues thay were remedied.

And dropped a rod tonight driving around... guess its time to source a gsr block and rebuild.

May put some pics up when I don't feel so mad at her :p

Yeah spun a bearing but didn't wreck the block. I need some more torque in my life so gonna go gsr and maybe next year some mild boost

And yeah the GTO belongs to one of my master techs. Hes owned it since he was a teen. Hes about to get it on the road again. Cant wait :)
