I replaced mine a while back. It didn't have the lower bolt attaching it, apparent'y it fell out sometime in the last ten years. I haven't gotten around to putting one back in either. My alt just sits in the bracket...

I know this topic is waaaayyy old, but thought I'd throw in my 2 cents for crx owners with a B16 set-up. I was able to pull my alternator through the top without having to remove the brake master cylinder. Just remove the upper alternator mount (2 bolts), the fuel rail (3 nuts), pop the rail off the injectors and move it to the side. It's slightly messy, but mine came up and out pretty easily.

You should see how easy it is to change the alt on a RHD rex, with my brake booster off on the other side it pulls through the top no problem

Oil filter is easily changed from the top aswell :P

i find this interesting and amusing. go figure it was designed with a RHD perspective first and things are out of the way. had not thought of this before.

Stick, where did you get your alternator from ? It says made in Canada.

I recently replaced my alternator and I couldn’t get it out due to the fact I had some aftermarket coil overs on the car and the suspension was shorter in travel. I had to remove the right side lower strut/ coil over bolt to allow the suspension to droop further to get the alternator out.
