1st Gen CRX Si sunroof motor torque

Postby billnyespy » Fri Jul 03, 2020 2:57 am

I did a brief search of this site before I created an account; I bought a 1987 CRX Si without a working sunroof, and the previous owner said it was the motor and included a "new" one (it seems to have been one from a junked car). I put the new one in, all goes well, but this one still doesn't work. I plug the harness for the motor into the old "bad" motor, and it spins, albiet it doesn't take much force to stop the motor from spinning.

I'm trying to figure out if the motor is also bad, or if the sunroof is seized somewhere. I am able to open it all the way using an allen wrench, but it takes a decent amount of force. Can anybody out here measure the torque it takes to open/move their sunroof using the manual adjusting hole?

Thanks everyone!
