Ignition coil or a different component

Postby alexbsmith919 » Mon Jul 02, 2018 3:59 pm

Buying a 87 crx in a week or so that has no spark according to PO.
He says it's the coil but upon research it seems 2nd gen and up has coils, so what does 1st Gen have? Is it the ignitor module instead?
Also what should I check out to be the cause of no spark, is there any fuses that could play a part?
Any particular steps I should take?
I'm open to anything and everything and hopefully meet some friendly folks in the process
Thanks in advance community members

Worse case sceanario, broken cam shaft, broken timing belt, or simple fix issues like a bad distributor/rotor, plug wires or ignition module.

You'll have to do some test to see where you're losing spark.
