Finding CV Axles

Postby BatBennis » Fri Oct 04, 2019 3:57 pm

I just got a 1986 HF that needs the cv axles replaced. Finding parts for it in Canada is proving difficult. Rockauto doesn't have any crx parts, and ebay and my local parts store are charging double the price of other honda model cv axles (an 86 civic cv axle on rockauto is around $60 each, my parts store and ebay are charging $120 for each cv axle). Are there any other hondas/acuras with compatible cv axles? Is there a master list of interchangable parts anywhere? I've done my best to look around, otherwise I wouldn't be posting. Maybe I'm just not using the right keywords.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: Just did a couple VIN lookups, turns out it's a DX.

Edit 2: Did a little bit more digging, turns out YES! For anyone who has the same question as me in the future, 1986 Civic parts will fit. I feel like I should have figured that out sooner, the first gen CRX is called a Civic..,.

Very good to know. Thanks for posting the follow-up! It's way harder than ever before to find parts. Many of them have been discontinued.
